This past weekend was the Wyoming Food Coalition Conference, which Peter and I played a HUGE role in pulling together. I knew we would be quite brain dead and possibly stuck in Riverton due to roads, so typing up my usually-meaty weekly email probably wasn't going to happen. Peter, has been begging me to let him write an email to you guys, so here it is: k!HKHIUSYiuhiu l[popkpop'o[p,o[pfaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa CV BCV MRC.Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa oib b bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb ys!s (!kKAAA//kuiu mn bhjvbkjbxlkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk . . . If you can tell what he said, let me know, because I have no idea! I was just informed that this Sunday is Superbowl Sunday. I hate watching sports, we don't even have a TV in our house, and...
I just sent off my friend Caitlin Youngquist of Circle Y Farms this morning. You may have heard me mention her before. She and her husband Tom grew the best potatoes I have ever tasted in my life this year, and I helped sell some of them during the holiday. She is a former Extension Agent with the University of Wyoming. Now she does consulting work, guiding/outfitting, and volunteers with her local Fire Department, along with many other things, including raising her own small herd of angus cattle. She is one of those ladies in Ag that I look up to so much, and I'm so grateful to have her and her Tom in our lives! Caitlin stopped by on...
I don't tell this to people right off the bat, but I'm not from here. That part isn't so bad though, it's where I'm from that get's people... I have been denied jobs, tips, conversations, and friendships because of it. And because of this, I have actually learned to use this factoid as a rapid way to sort people out for myself when I need to. Most people tell me they would never guess that I am from Lake Forest, a suburb of Orange County, in Southern California. I have now been in Wyoming for 12 years, and I am anxiously awaiting the day I have lived here longer than I have lived anywhere else. One thing I learned quickly, when I...
We have got milk! One of my friend's cows just calved and my neighbor is swimming in raw cow's milk. If you need some, reply to this email and I will coordinate with you on how to get ahold of some. I just tried a new recipe, called Croque Madame, that has become my new favorite breakfast. You can't go wrong with milk, eggs, butter, cheese, and sourdough! Check it out HERE. Some NEW Products available from Taste of the Wind this month Beef Sample Bundles Lamb Mini-Sample Bundles Dryer Balls and more! Peruse our online store HERE. Attention bacon-lovers!!!! I will be taking a break from selling pork this year, but I found a local pork producer who is all...
I have been a little quiet lately. I sincerely hope you didn't even notice. I hope your life is full enough, that you don't hang on for my usually-weekly emails... hahaha! I have really been struggling, well grappling is probably a better word, with the whole gratitude, joy, and faith battle vs the extreme materialism that comes with this time of year. This time of year is such a great opportunity for introspection, evaluation, gratitude, and intention. We see this reflected in our annual efforts to set resolutions for the new year. But it all seems to be so surface level, and the last thing I want to do is fill up your inbox with a bunch of surface-level, materialistic...
