Hi,
I have been a little quiet lately.
Have you missed me?
I have missed my weekly back and forth over email with you for sure.

Between hauling animals to the processor, delivering meat to our bulk-meat customers, getting our Lamb Snack Sticks stocked into 6 different storefronts across Wyoming, and launching the 4th year of my Virtual Fall Hide Tanning Course, I haven't had much time to write my email newsletter, because I have been chipping away at my "real job" as Executive Director of the Wyoming Food Coalition, and planning a pretty big local food event coming up in Casper, WY.

The Wyoming Food Coalition Fall Conference is taking place in less than 2 weeks, from November 14th-16th.
I am pretty excited about this jam-packed three-day event.
Day 1 is dedicated just to Wyoming Producers, with a Grower Showcase where farmers and ranchers will have samples of their Wy-Grown products out for people to try. There will be a variety of Buyer-Grower networking opportunities, trainings, and a keynote speaker on systemic food system changes we will need to see in our state, in order to make local food sustainable in Wyoming.
Day 2 is full to the brim with content, featuring three simultaneous tracks of a wide range of topics centered around local food production, safety, logistics, marketing, access, and consumption, ending with live music and a keynote dinner- which will be prepared by Heirloom and Native, a local caterer who specializes in featuring locally-grown Wyoming foods.
Day 3 is a great opportunity to see some local-food-growing operations in action. Starting with a greenhouse tour of Casper, with a pit stop at the Milkhouse- local food-freedom store, and ending with live music, a local food story-telling session, and locally-sourced brunch at the Bloomery- a Casper flower farm and outdoor event venue.
Sound fun?
You can check out the detailed schedule and register HERE.
We have in-person and virtual attendance options and scholarships available too!
Peter and I would love to see you there.
We have put a ton of work into this event and are excited about the collaboration and community-building that will come from gathering around Wyoming Local Food.

Happy November!
