Hey, are you hanging in there???
This time of year is SO BUSY! Believe me, I know!
Peter, and the dogs, and I have been working long days getting moved off of the summer pastures to fall pastures, 20 miles closer to home.
We finally finished that process yesterday and we are pooped!
It took 7 trailer loads and a couple of other trips to get all of the equipment, supplies, and animals out to their next stops.
Needless to say, I am so grateful for my dogs!

Peter and I could not have done it without them!
We moved 10 pigs and 87 sheep with no loading ramps or corrals.
Just the dogs and Peter's very quick and well-timed gate-shutting skills!

Phew!
Now we begin the final fall graze on pastures that are slowly working on going to sleep for the winter. The nutrient levels in these grasses are perfect for preparing animals for the cold temps ahead, and the late-season rains and heat we have received have made them even better this year!
There is a beautiful understory of grasses, sedges, and forbs, underneath a canopy of blooming shrubs like Sagebrush, Rabbitbrush, and Winterfat- yes it's actually called that!

Not only is it absolutely delicious for the animals, but this amazing mix of native-plants makes for delicious-tasting, and nutrient-dense meat.
Oh, and beautiful, and fragrant, Wyoming rangeland views...

Which, must contribute to the general well-being of the animals as much as it does for us- I'm convinced!
